Lead Technical Electrician
Northern Virginia • Partnership track • Consulting + equity • Part-time, flexible
A hybrid consulting and equity opportunity to serve as our Lead Technical Electrician and Qualifying Individual for state licensing — overseeing technical quality, mentoring the team, and growing with us as we build mission-critical electrical infrastructure for data centers across Northern Virginia.
What you'll do
- Serve as Qualifying Individual for state electrical contractor licensing (Master Electrician credential required).
- Oversee quality, testing and compliance sign-off on electrical and commissioning work.
- Lead technical testing: instrument transformers, relays, power transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers and cable testing (Tan Delta, VLF, Hipot and more).
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical reports and test documentation.
- Mentor team members on NETA certification and data center commissioning best practices.
- Review technical scopes, bids and quality standards for data center projects.
- Conduct site visits, technical reviews and direct project consulting as the business grows.
- Travel as needed on a flexible, part-time commitment.
What we look for
- Required: NETA Certification Level III or IV.
- Required: active Master Electrician license in good standing.
- Required: demonstrated data center or mission-critical facility experience.
- Required: valid driver's license and fluency in English, verbal and written.
- Preferred: Electrical Engineering Technology degree or certificate.
- Preferred: prior experience as an electrical technician or field professional.
- Preferred: familiarity with cable terminations (3M, Raychem, Pfisterer).
Compensation & schedule
Monthly retainer for ongoing availability, paid regardless of project volume, plus $50–$100 per hour for direct project work and site engagement. Meaningful equity vests in stages tied to licensing milestones and revenue thresholds. This begins as a trial engagement so both sides can confirm mutual fit before formalizing equity — we're looking for a genuine partner, not a transactional arrangement.
